- Alberta Pane is delighted to announce that its Venice gallery will host a solo exhibition by renowned American artist Judy Chicago (b. 1939), on view from May to November 2026, in conjunction with the upcoming Venice Biennale. The Materiality of Judy Chicago, curated by Allison Raddock, is a focused exhibition exploring the innovative and diverse materials that have defined Judy Chicago’s six-decade career. From spray-painted car hoods and porcelain plates to needlework and glass, Chicago has continuously challenged artistic hierarchies, embracing techniques historically dismissed as ‘craft’ to expand feminist and conceptual art practices. A dedicated publication, including an interview by Massimiliano Gioni, will accompany the exhibition.Description

- For the third chapter of his Predizione Perdizione drawing series, following exhibitions in Venice at Galleria Alberta Pane and in Ajaccio at the Palais Fesch – Musée des Beaux-Arts, João Vilhena presents in Paris a selection of large-scale works. Executed in black chalk on grey cardboard, these works explore historical memory and contemporary concerns, creating a dialogue between past and present.Description

- From February 7 to April 11, 2026, French artist Marie Lelouche presents previously unseen works in her solo exhibition Nonuments, held across the gallery’s two Paris spaces. For this exhibition, the artist extends the work started with Quasi-Things Simulator, a piece commissioned by the Jeu de Paume and presented online from June 27, 2024, to February 28, 2025, presenting new sculptures and photographs that question the concept of the “Nonument”, as developped by philosopher Andrea Pinotti. The exhibition is accompanied by a text by Nathalie Bachand.Description

- This online project aims to shed light on some lesser-known aspects of Claude Cahun’s practice through works from the gallery’s collection. Born in 1894, Claude Cahun was a visionary and multifaceted artist closely associated with the Surrealist movement. They are particularly known for their photographic self-portraits in which they stage themselves. However, their artistic practice goes far beyond that. Accompanied by their partner Marcel Moore and following the Surrealist movement, they created several small théâtres de choses (theaters of things): works in which objects are staged, often repurposed or removed from their original context or function.Description
