  • Known for his playful approach, Monk often questions the legacy of conceptual art by revisiting seminal works with humour and critique. Spanning from sculpture, painting and photography to film and installation, his practice challenges notions of originality in an attempt to demystify the creative process itself.

  • Working through molding and casting, he examines how built environments, particularly those shaped by tourism and real estate overdevelopment, intervene in and transform natural landscapes. In this context, alluvial deposits such as bricks and concrete increasingly merge with limestone, forming hybrid terrains continuously reshaped by sun, sea, salt and wind. For the purpose of his presentation Papageorgiou produced a series of works that function as negative spaces: forms to be reinterpreted materially and conceptually as tools for reconsidering landscape and history.

  • The solo show entitled Belly of the Fish by Valentina Bartolini conceives the belly as an enclosed, transformative space. Drawing inspiration from proto-surrealist practices, Bartolini redirects attention from the external world to the unconscious, allowing shapes to surface through intuition, introspection and attentive observation. The title alludes to biblical imagery of the inner world and transformation, such as the belly of the whale in the story of Jonah.
