  • The project Not What You Saw began organically, when Kunnath met a handful of female bodybuilders from the region; the group later grew to more than a dozen. Spending time with them, she came to understand the full weight of their commitment: the physical demands of the sport, the emotional strain, and the financial pressure of choosing this career. Determined to build visibility and respect for these women, she got to know their friends and families, spent time with them in their homes outside the shoots, and followed them to competitions. For Kunnath, the project is both document and provocation: a tribute to trailblazing women, and a call to rethink cultural constructs of gender and beauty. Kunnath’s visual language is striking and graceful - characterized by a rich colour pallette and the softness of a southern Indian sunset. The exhibition questions stereotypes and preconceptions of what a woman could and should look like and asks the viewer to think twice. The title, Not What You Saw, indicates that what we thought we knew, what we believed typical or acceptable, is shifting.

  • In September 2026, Hailun Ma presents her first major solo exhibition outside China, inviting visitors into a world where fashion becomes a lens for social observation. Recognized as one of the most influential voices among China’s new generation of image-makers, Ma turns her camera toward the gestures, styles, and relations that shape everyday life in Xinjiang. The exhibition brings together recent series focused on family, youth, and daily style in Xinjiang. Moving between the staged and the spontaneous, Ma’s images reveal how people present themselves, and how culture is worn, shared, and reimagined. Ma’s work allows the images to speak before they are explained. Through her vibrant portraits, she has brought global attention to the style subcultures of ethnic minority and multicultural communities in contemporary China—bridging local identity and global fashion culture. Her work has been featured in New York Magazine, i-D, GQ China and Vogue.

  • Foam presents The edge of things, a major solo exhibition of the internationally renowned artist Nadav Kander. Over more than three decades, Kander has created some of the most celebrated images in contemporary photography, including portraits of Barack Obama, Rosamund Pike and David Lynch for publications such as The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker and TIME. The edge of things traces the threads that connect his work: a deep concern with the fragility of human existence, the passage of time, and the quiet intensity of everyday life. From his award-winning photographs of the banks of China's Yangtze River to the shores of the River Thames and places such as Chernobyl, heavy with the weight of history, Kander’s photographs stand out for their ability to evoke both emotion and a sense of timelessness. Rather than simply documenting the world, his work evokes a shared human experience through a poetic and atmospheric visual language. His images often dwell at the margins – on the ‘edge of things’ – where certainty dissolves and ambiguity takes hold. Shadow, emptiness, and silence play as vital a role as his subjects, creating photographs that resonate on a profound level. The exhibition is curated by guest curator David Campany, Creative Director of the International Center of Photography, New York, in collaboration with the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography (Minneapolis/Paris/Lausanne) and Foam. The international publication The edge of things accompanying this exhibition is published by Thames & Hudson.

The exhibition focusses on Magic City, an influential strip club in Atlanta that serves as a cultural epicenter where hip-hop culture and entertainment converge. This exhibition, Benjida pays tribute to the women behind Atlanta’s influential hip-hop scene—a city she considers pivotal in shaping the global sound of the genre. • About the exhibition Anuschka Blommers and Niels Schumm met at Amsterdam’s Gerrit Rietveld Academy and began collaborating shortly after graduating in 1997. Since then, they have become leading figures in international fashion photography, known for blurring the line between editorial work and autonomous art. At first glance, their images appear serene and meticulously composed— yet depict moments that could never unfold so quietly in real life: a falling glass, a collage of objects forming a face—where even the slightest shift in perspective could cause the entire composition to collapse. What might seem digitally manipulated today, Blommers & Schumm have in fact constructed entirely in front of the camera lens—if only for the brief moment the photograph was taken. Blommers & Schumm have developed a singular visual language—both conceptually rich and visually striking. By challenging the conventions of fashion photography and embracing the unexpected, their work invites viewers to reconsider what they see and how they see it. This retrospective offers a rare glimpse into their ever-evolving world, where precision meets play and nothing is quite as it seems. Warning : Flashing lights — Part of the exhibition contains visuals that may trigger seizures in viewers with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
