GRIMM - Amsterdam
- GRIMM is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Rafał Topolewski, on view at the New York location from September 5 to November 1, 2025. This is the artist's second solo exhibition with the gallery, and his first solo exhibition in New York. Marking his latest series of paintings and drawings, the exhibition navigates the liminal states between waking and sleep, interiority and observation, memory and materiality. Drawing on dreams, rituals, and deeply personal routines, Topolewski constructs scenes that feel at once tender and disquieting. At the heart of this exhibition lies an interest in falling: falling into sleep, into thought, or into the self. The works suggest a complex emotional terrain: the nurturing of thoughts and images both healing and invasive.Description

- Liza Jo Eilers is a multimedia artist who works through the double bind of popular culture's representation of women and how it can both resist and reinforce the very ideals it claims to challenge. She questions not just what we see, but how habits of seeing have become embedded in American identity and entertainment, shaped by decades of cultural failure and its lingering aftermath. Starland silver sash examines pleasure, performance, and the mechanics of a good time. The artist asks: What's a good time, who's a good time, and for whom is the good time? The paintings unfold like film, stitched from cropped images, some with interruptions of black paint that act as censors, pauses, veils. Not all obstructions are permanent; in thermally sensitive works, the black temporarily turns transparent, revealing what lies beneath. The series explores how women are held in a constant loop of being seen and seeing themselves, flickering between intimacy and spectacle.Description

- GRIMM is pleased to present an exhibition of new paintings by Anthony Cudahy. The exhibition explores themes of queer identity and tenderness through evocative figurative paintings that weave imagery culled from photo archives, art history, film stills, hagiographic icons and personal photographs. The works negotiate feelings of loneliness, isolation, desire, and safety through the lens of the artist's own autobiographical narratives and crafted mythologies.Description
