On now
- ‘Is it better to be hated by one person or by three?’ What at first glance sounds like a punchy social media hook turns out, in Ndayé Kouagou’s new production Heaven’s Truth, to be an unvarnished analysis of a present in which ethical and moral responsibility is sacrificed to the pursuit of social capital. In the hall architecture of the Heidelberger Kunstverein, the artist spatialises a fable centered on four characters stylized as dogs—Pudding, Pimpim, Puhda, and Pochi—whose volatile web of relationships serves as an example of subtle mechanisms of exclusion and the logic of resentment.Description

Recent past exhibitions
- This exhibition explores the motif of flying animals as symbolic spaces of resonance between observations of nature and social analysis. Rather than focusing on the depiction of birds themselves, the exhibition considers their function as a canvas for questions of power, care, violence, and coexistence. The assembled video, sculpture, photography, and installation works address topics such as animal husbandry, ecological interdependencies, social rituals, and the mechanisms of control and appropriation. In the process, dance-based interventions and exercises will emerge, such as the “Thursday Movements” led by Edan Gorlicki. The latter take place every Thursday at 10:00 am, and participation is open to everyone. The program is constantly updated on the Kunstverein homepage – stay tuned! On the opening evening, the performance installation “Body Language” by INTER-ACTIONS will be performed. It will bridge the gap between the choreographic elements on the walls and the living movement in the room.Description
