KELLIE MILLER ARTS

On now

  • This Autumn we are celebrating Ashley Hanson’s milestone 100th painting in his long-running series exploring the Cornish coastal town, Porthleven. A small town with only a few thousand residents, abstract painter Ashley Hanson depicts Porthleven from all angles, representing everything from the clock tower to the local pub. His thickly textured paintings make great use of gesture and movement to capture the thrum of energy that is apparent in the town, his bold use of colour amplifying the impact. Known for its sweeping sunsets where the sun cuts right down through the centre of the harbour, his paintings often immerse you in deep warm tones reflecting this sumptuous view.

  • In celebration of the first anniversary at Church Street, KMA Gallery unveils Sumptuous, featuring the work of encaustic painter David Hayward and hyper-realist food sculptor Anna Barlow. Refocusing their work through this lens, the result is a bold exhibition that celebrates the rich tapestry of a vivid, contemporary experience. Often recalling heavily laden banquets of opulent food, the term sumptuous implies an elaborate abundance of plenty. While this focuses on exquisite material excess, here a shimmering horizon line or a 99p soft serve are celebrated as wonders to behold. For it is in life’s simple pleasures, easily taken for granted, where true luxury lies. Curated by Kellie Miller, Sumptuous invites you to take the opportunity to slow down and appreciate what is right in front of you; to find prosperity in our everyday experiences.

  • Following a successful move to Church Street in Brighton in 2025, Kellie Miller Arts Gallery is pleased to announce our first annual Open Call Exhibition from 14th February to 30th March 2026. Mindful of the importance of this historic space to the Sussex community, as a standalone independent gallery, there are only so many people we can represent, and it is important to us to share the opportunities this beautiful building presents with the greater artistic community. We invited artists from across the region to submit their best pieces.
