Petrit Halilaj (*1986 in Shkoder, Albania) is a visual artist who works with sculpture, installation, and drawing. His work often explores themes of memory, history, and the relationship between people and their environment.
The exhibition An Opera Out of Time presents a selection of Halilaj's most important works from the past decade, including sculptures made from found objects, drawings, and installations that combine natural materials with industrial elements. The show also features a new series of works created specifically for the Hamburger Bahnhof.
The exhibition is curated by Udo Kittelmann, director of the Nationalgalerie im Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin, in close collaboration with the artist.
