De Elleboogkerk - Amersfoort

  • Nina Chanel Abney's work combines the visual heritage of cubists like Picasso and Léger with the social visual language of Harlem Renaissance greats like Aaron Douglas and Jacob Lawrence. Her recent public mural at the Miami World Center is inspired by Overtown, a historic black neighborhood in Miami. Abney's work is included in collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn Museum, Bronx Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Rubell Family Collection, Nasher Museum of Art, and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
