  • Alexandre Khondji's practice is rooted in research-driven site-specificity. His works, varied in form and complexity, delicately balance intervention with the properties of the contexts they inhabit. Khondji lives and works in Paris. His first solo exhibition with the gallery took place in 2025. His work has also been exhibited at the 4th Okayama Art Summit, the Fondation Pernod Ricard in Paris, the Museum für moderne Kunst (MMK) in Frankfurt am Main, the Capc Musée d’art contemporain in Bordeaux, and the LUMA Foundation in Arles. • Hanna Stiegeler’s practice uses images, both found and produced, to disect visual culture and its connections to commerce, history, and femininity. Appropriating imagery from commercial photography and public archives while also borrowing their language for self-produced images, Stiegeler constructs her screenprints through a manual and deliberately imprecise process. The resulting artworks, unique versions of otherwise reproducible images, hint and tease the latent and veiled narratives, labors, and contradictions of their source materials. Stiegeler (*1985, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. Her second solo exhibition at the gallery will take place in 2026, as will her her first institutional solo exhibition at E-Werk Freiburg. Her work has also been included in group exhibitions at Eigen+Art, Galerie Thomas Schulte, Gems, and the Goethe Institut Paris. Stiegeler received an MFA from the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig in 2019.

  • Made in L.A. 2025 is the seventh iteration of the Hammer’s signature biennial exhibition that showcases artists practicing throughout the greater Los Angeles area. The 28 participants in the exhibition present work not only made in the city but also grounded in its complex and unfolding terrain. Neither myth nor monolith, Los Angeles is many things to many people, and its dissonance is perhaps its most distinguishing feature. The works presented in this year’s biennial include film, painting, theater, choreography, photography, sculpture, sound, and video. Attitude draws them together: Each engages with this city in ways alternately literal, formal, material, and metaphoric. Conceived or made in Los Angeles, they are of this city and nowhere else.
