  • KÖNIG TELEGRAPHENAMT presents SUNLIT LOVE by Franz Stein, the artist’s first exhibition with the gallery. SUNLIT LOVE...or, from spatial image to pictorial space. A curious scene—A huge carpet lies on the floor of the gallery, filling the space, almost monumental. The carpet can be read like a map: the eye traverses various levels and terrains with gentle hills and shallow lakes—a small walk through the boundlessness of one's own imagination. With this carpet, Franz Stein has transformed the spatial images of his painted canvases into a seemingly boundless visual space: the gallery is filled with sunlit love! And the Summer sun paints further images into the room through the arched windows...

  • KÖNIG MEXICO CITY is pleased to present a group show by Jordi Alós, Henning Strassburger, and Zhivago Duncan. In recent years, several artists have abstracted imagery taken from slapstick, comic strips, cartoons and film into new visual languages that address personal experiences, social anxieties, and environmental concerns. These works rely on the viewer’s own familiarity with popular culture. Through processes of distortion, appropriation, and alienation, the comic’s vocabulary of characters and forms becomes a complex field of discourse for the contemporary. This June, KÖNIG MEXICO CITY will bring together three artists of the same generation – Jordi Alós (Mexico), Henning Strassburger (Germany) and Zhivago Duncan (USA) – whose work reinterprets the legacy of comics within contemporary painting and sculpture. All three began drawing at a young age, shaped by an early fascination with comic books and cartoons. Though their practices are distinct, they share an interest in how figuration and humour can be used to confront more serious themes.

  • KÖNIG GALERIE is proud to present the first exhibition by Julian Opie at St. Agnes—a monumental installation that transforms the former church into a dynamic cityscape of towering sculptures, animated LED panels, and striking portraits. This marks the first time an artist is taking over all spaces at St. Agnes, including the courtyard and sculpture garden, with several works designed especially for the unique architecture of the building, forging a powerful dialogue between art and space.

  • KÖNIG BERGSON is pleased to present RAW PARADISE, a solo exhibition by Arne Quinze. This new body of work continues his more than twenty-year exploration of the fractured relationship between humanity and nature. It brings together oil paintings, sculptural compositions in raw bronze and aluminum, ceramics, Murano glass, and video to create an immersive environment exploring nature’s raw power and fragile harmony. Quinze addresses one of today’s most urgent issues: the lost connection between modern society and nature’s essential rhythms and values. Working across multiple disciplines, he employs diverse media—paint, ceramics, metal, glass, and video—to reveal what has been forgotten in nature’s relentless transformation toward harmony. His sculptures merge phosphor bronze, aluminum, ceramics, and delicate Murano glass, embodying the tensions within nature itself—raw strength alongside fragile delicacy. Each piece, suspended or grounded, becomes a biotope, a self-contained ecosystem where material and meaning converge.
